We are Prepack
Prepack is a food logistics business, specialising in the procurement of long-life food and the design and assembly of ration packs
Prepack is based in Palmerston North and has been assembling and supplying ration packs for many years. Over that time, Prepack has created an efficient process for developing and assembling ration packs that meet customer requirements.
Prepack is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Multi-Pack Group. The Group, consisting of companies Prepack, Multi-Pack and Portion Pack Foods, source ration pack components, including ready-to-eat meals, from a range of suppliers in Australasia. These components are assembled into ration packs and survival packs at Prepack, and then shipped to customers both locally and internationally.
The Group is the only independently owned scale supplier of ration packs and related components in Australasia that currently meets the requirements of military, emergency, disaster, and humanitarian relief organisations.
Why our customers work with us
menu development and customisation
The technical experts at Prepack assist in the design and development of ration packs to meet nutritional, functional, climate, or shelf-life requirements. The product development process uses a proprietary Gate System to manage innovation. This process supports continuous improvement in packs and components and is a key performance measure across all our supply contracts.
PACK ASSEMBLY
Prepack has a dedicated assembly room which is designed to minimise the risk of contamination, allowing for proper separation of product to ensure regulatory requirements and customer specifications are met.
STORAGE
Prepack has a secure storage facility with over 2,000 bay locations that allow pick, pack and distribution tasks to be completed quickly and accurately. Using a state of the art Warehouse Management System (WMS) Prepack is able to offer complete inventory management reporting and regular stock counts.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT
Prepack has a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) certified to both ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2018. The QMS includes a Food Safety Program designed around the requirements of the Codex HACCP CAC/RCP 1-1969, Rev 4-200 within ISO 22000:2018.
The Prepack site is a Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) approved Transitional Facility for import containers and has a Risk Management Program (RMP) for exports.
Become a Supplier
Prepack works collaboratively with a wide range of Australasian suppliers, developing innovative products to ensure ration packs and components reflect the latest nutritional knowledge, food technologies and market trends.
Prepack’s Approved Supplier Program is a five-step process used to determine if a new Supplier or Subcontractor has the capability (food safety standards, appropriate certification, production capacity, minimal order quantities) to meet the Prepack standards and requirements.
Prepack’s Risk Assessment determines appropriate verification requirements commensurate with the risk. These requirements include ongoing surveillance audits, verification of Supplier/Subcontractor certification and Incoming Goods Inspections.
